Fairfield General Plan study session Wednesday follows Tuesday council meeting
FAIRFIELD Two cannabis retail permits and one cannabis manufacturing permit will be considered for final approval by the Fairfield City Council when it meets in-person Tuesday.
The council also is scheduled to meet Wednesday in a joint meeting with the Planning Commission for a study session on the General Plan update. The meeting is set for 6 p.m. at Willow Hall, 1000 Kentucky St.
The retail permits, if approved Tuesday by the council, would go to JJVI Enterprises Inc. and Responsible and Compliant Retail Fairfield LLC, and the manufacturing permit would go to 3Bros Fairfield.

LARGO â A Pinellas Park developer is targeting a 15.5-acre site within walking distance of Largo Central Park for a new multifamily housing complex.
City commissioners voted 6-1 on April 6 to authorize staff to negotiate a development agreement with Belleair Development LLC for the property at 800 Eighth Ave. SE. Commissioner Michael Smith voted no.
The site, which is a mostly vacant field, is directly to the east of Largo Middle School and to the south of Central Park and the Largo Public Library.
The project still has many more steps to take, Alicia Parinello, a planner with the city, told commissioners.
The Grand Junction City Council adopted its new comprehensive plan Wednesday evening after making several changes to the document to address concerns raised by citizens.
Community Development Director Tamra Allen gave an overview of the plan, which was named the One Grand Junction Comprehensive Plan. It will replace the previous comprehensive plan adopted in 2010 and represents some changes to how the city envisions its future development.
âWith this One Grand Junction Comprehensive Plan we celebrate our past accomplishments while also recognizing future challenges and opportunities,â Allen said. âWith our long-range vision and plan principles, the plan will help inform long-range decision making and funding priorities to implement the future the community desires,â Allen said.
