Weeks After Luke Letlow s Death, His Wife Julia Letlow Is the Frontrunner to Replace Him in Congress

Julia Letlow has never run for political office, but she intimately knows what it s like to be on a successful Congressional campaign. She s now a frontrunner in the race to fill the seat that her husband, Luke Letlow, never got to occupy after his successful election last fall.
Luke died of complications from COVID-19 just five days before he was to be sworn into office at the U.S. Capitol for Lousiana s 5th District. LA REPUBLICAN PARTY An Alexandria, Louisiana lawmaker Republican State Representative Lance Harris was a candidate for Louisiana’s 5th District but was defeated by Luke Letlow who then died from Covid-19 complications leaving the seat vacant. Letlow’s widow, Julia recently announced she’s running for that seat . Harris recently released a video explaining why he decided not to run again. I have decided not to run for Louisiana s 5th Congressional district, Harris said. We have an enormous amount of work to be done in this state and I believe for now that I can better serve the people of my district and this state by remainining in a leadership position in the Louisiana leglislature.
