On Tuesday, Democrat Alisha Shelton announced that she will challenge Republican Congressman Don Bacon in the 2022 election. Shelton, who was raised in Omaha, says she is running for Congress in Nebraska’s 2nd district because, Nebraskans need someone looking out for them. Shelton previously threw her hat into the political ring when she ran against Republican Senator Ben Sasse in the 2020 election. “I’m running for Congress because working Nebraskans need good jobs, affordable health care, and higher wages.
