The president is getting ready to speak at this event. He is in the Peach State right now. He had visited a little earlier today with former President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn. This outreach he has had with former presidents continues.
Remember, he had talked on the phone to President George W. Bush ahead of his decision to pull out of Afghanistan by 9/11 that. We re told that call was short and sweet, but that President Bush appreciated the heads-up and the personal call, at that, continuing that right now, earlier, with President Jimmy Carter, and all of this after his joint address to Congress last night.

In recent years, professional athletes have gone all in on activism, attending protests and marches, donating large amounts of money and even sitting out games. However, the WNBA has been at the forefront of the political movement in professional sports.
According to research from the
Washington Post, the activism of the players on the Atlanta Dream had a hand in co-owner and Republican Senator Kelly Loeffler’s second-place finish in her senate race.
In July, while Black Lives Matter protests and marches were common across America, the WNBA was desperately trying to return to basketball and players wanted to dedicate the season to the social justice movement. Loeffler, however, wasn’t on board.

David Perdue won’t be running to take back his Senate seat in 2022, leaving the field open for other Republican candidates to challenge newly elected Democratic Senator Rev. Raphael Warnock.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Perdue said the decision was personal, not political, and that he would “do everything I can” to make sure that Warnock is replaced by a Republican in 2022.
The decision comes a week after Perdue filed the paperwork required to run for the post currently held by Warnock, who defeated Georgia’s other former Republican Senator Kelly Loeffler in the Jan. 5 runoff.
In the statement, Perdue parroted unfounded claims spread by former President Donald Trump who also lost Georgia regarding the security and validity of Georgia’s election, and referenced the election reform bills currently making their way through the Georgia General assembly.
