VANCOUVER Homicide investigators are looking for witnesses to an incident inside a Surrey mall last month that led to a man s death. The Lower Mainland s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said in a news release that the physical altercation took place around 8:30 a.m. on June 7, in the rotunda at the Surrey Central City mall. Police said two men were involved in the fight outside the Tim Hortons. One of them, Andrew Doucette, was injured and taken to hospital. After a few days, Doucette s condition worsened and he died from his injuries, police said. Investigators did not say exactly when Doucette died, but noted that the Surrey RCMP Serious Crimes Unit was notified of his death on June 17.
VANCOUVER The Port Moody home from which Trina Hunt was reported missing back in January was behind police tape Saturday, and officers were also seen at her husband Iain Hunt s family home in Mission. Hunt was reported missing from the Port Moody home on Jan. 18. Police said the 48-year-old’s husband reported coming home to find she was gone. On May 1, the Lower Mainland s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team confirmed that remains found in Hope, B.C. in late March were those of Hunt. Her death is considered a homicide, and IHIT is investigating. Officers could be seen entering and leaving both homes on Saturday, and at least some of the officers at the Mission residence were wearing IHIT uniforms.
On Saturday, police in Port Moody cordoned off the house of Trina Hunt, four days after her family offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
VANCOUVER Homicide investigators have been called to Chilliwack after a fatal shooting that took place early Thursday morning. Chilliwack RCMP said in a news release that officers responded around 1:15 a.m. to a report that a person suffering gunshot wounds had been transported to hospital. The person later succumbed to their injuries, police said. Police did not provide the deceased person s age or gender, nor did they say where the shooting had occurred. The Lower Mainland s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is working on the case with Chilliwack RCMP and the BC Coroners Service, police said. BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) said paramedics were called to the area for a potential shooting but did not transport any patients from the area.
