Lincoln County Schools announced the change in graduation plans for the high school, after a former East Lincoln High student, just released from jail, was arrested for threatening the school community just a few weeks prior. Amos Stevens On May 14th, former East Lincoln High student Amos Stevens, 18, was arrested after making death threats on social media. Police say Amos threatened to kill people attending a memorial service for a high school senior in Denver, N.C.

Last Thursday (May 13) the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received calls from School Resource Officers at East Lincoln Middle School and East Lincoln High School about rumors spreading around their respective schools that an individual had posted threats on social media. The individual allegedly threatened to kill people attending a memorial service at a Denver, N.C. church to honor an East Lincoln High School senior who passed away last week.

Lincoln County sheriff s investigators arrested a suspect after receiving calls from school resource officers at East Lincoln Middle School and East Lincoln High School. The officers reported rumors spreading around the schools that someone posted threats on social media, according to a Sheriff s Office news release. Investigators said the person threatened to kill people during the service at a church in Denver, N.C., which is at Lake Norman.
