A barber in Somerset has said he is fed up of people asking for haircuts throughout the third national lockdown.
Marmaris Turkish Barbers on East Reach in Taunton has been inundated with people asking for home visits or to take them into the back room discreetly, despite the government s coronavirus restrictions.
Under the current guidelines, barbers and hairdressers have been forced to close, with a provisional date of April 12 being earmarked for the earliest possible reopening.

Stanley Howard Tooze and his identical twin Edwin were born in Rockwell Green in 1923. His first job was as an errand boy at Fox s Factory, in Wellington. He joined the Home Guard at 14, working for the Ministry of Works constructing Dunkeswell airfield runways, driving the concrete lorries. He was conscripted into the army at 18 and immediately volunteered for the Paratroopers as he thought it would be more exciting. He was in A company of the 8th Battalion Parachute Regiment and first saw action on the night before D-Day in June 1944, when he parachuted into German occupied France and was involved in fierce fighting around Caen and then liberating Northern France.
PEOPLE leaving near a temporary homeless hostel during the Covid-19 crisis fear it could become a permanent refuge. They have voiced concerns to Somerset West and Taunton Council, which is considering whether Canonsgrove could become a permanent hostel. Trull Residents’ Group has recorded several incidents they say make the site inappropriate, including verbal abuse, trespassing, drugs, drunkenness, urinating in public, shouting at 3am, flouting Covid-19 measures, littering and obstructing the road. A statement from TRG says members have supported Canonsgrove’s use as “temporary emergency accommodation for homeless people” during the pandemic. It adds: “Despite strong evidence that the Canonsgrove model is not the best way of helping people out of homelessness, and the resulting crime/anti-social behaviour in the villages, SWT is now exploring expanding Canonsgrove as a sizeable permanent hub for homeless people across the district.
