Demolition begins for Ormond Beach landmark Julian s building on A1A

Demolition began this week on the old Julian s Dining Room & Lounge building on A1A in Ormond Beach. With its distinctive A-frame and Polynesian decor, it was a beachside landmark for nearly a half century. But after closing its doors in 2012, the boarded-up building became one of the symbols of the Daytona Beach area s beachside blight. I miss Julian s, however, it became an eyesore in recent years, said Dwight Bailey, a real estate agent with Adams, Cameron & Co.
