A driver has been forced to abandon their car which is now stranded in water after heavy flooding. Pictures of Southend Road, near Fobbing, have shown how a large section of the road is submerged in water. Police have closed both ends of the road at the Murco petrol garage and Eastern Garages, only allowing a select number of vehicles through. Rachel Walker, who has lived along the road for 20 years, said: The road has never been so quiet, I did wonder why barely any cars had gone past our house this morning. I drove down the end to have a look at what was happening and saw a car was stranded in the water, I just hope the driver is okay.
