Cunningham, of Lincoln Avenue, was sentenced to $400 plus costs, 360 days in jail (30 days imposed) and 60 community service sanction hours on theft and assault charges. He is set Aug. 27 for review. Michael A. Howard, of Canton, was sentenced to $300 plus costs and 90 days in jail (30 days imposed) on charges of drug paraphernalia (two counts) and obstructing official business. County Sheriff A deputy responded to Bulldog Motors in Negley for a trespassing complaint at 1:17 p.m. Saturday. The deputy spoke to the owner who stated his vehicle had been towed to the shop and it was damaged in the recent fire on the property and he was there to obtain photos of the damage. The deputy advised him that the scene was still under investigation and no one was allowed on the property. Deputies responded to a residence on state Route 170 at 3:52 p.m. Tuesday for a suicidal person. Deputies made contact with the person and pink slipped the individual who was then transported to a local hospital for treatment. ....
SALEM A woman asked police at 10:10 a.m. Friday how to obtain a protection order and reported possible telephone harassment, saying her ex-husband has been contacting her and she wanted him to stop. Officers made contact with him and told him if he continues, he’ll face criminal charges. A barking dog was reported at 9:42 a.m. Friday in the 100 block of South Union Avenue. Officers could hear the dog and left a note for the owner, who wasn’t home. Police were called at 5:15 a.m. Friday to the 800 block of East Sixth Street where a woman reported possibly hearing someone in her basement. Officers checked the basement and the interior of the residence, but no one was found. ....
