央视《铿锵海防行》第三季《向东看大海》首期节目就走进了解放军新型的052D型驱逐舰 苏州舰。
值得一提的是，苏州舰也是东海舰队目前最先进的驱逐舰，属于052D型驱逐舰的最新升级版。众所周知，解放军如今最新锐的驱逐舰当属万吨大驱055型驱逐舰，如今正式入列的两艘全部隶属北海舰队，分别是南昌舰（舷号101）和拉萨舰（舷号102）。
从2012年首艘052D下水开始算起，该型舰的生产过程接近10年，期间也大致经历了三个批次的改进。第一、第二批次的052D区别较小，外观上也仅仅是近防炮做了调整，第三批次也就是苏州舰这批被网友昵称为“052DL”，外观上最大的区别在于加长了直升机起降甲板，为了更好适配反潜型直-20直升机。
不过在央视的此次报道中，该舰配套的还是一架直-9D直升机，并搭载吨位更大、性能更先进的反潜型直-20直升机
