STAFF REPORTER GUWAHATI: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), a statutory body set up in 1949 by an Act of Parliament to regulate the CA profession in the country, has elected its new president CA. Nihar N Jambusaria from Mumbai and vice president CA. (Dr) Debashis Mitra from Guwahati. This is first time in the history of ICAI that a member from Guwahati has been elevated to the post of vice president of the Second largest Accounting body in the world. CA. Dr Mitra has an extensive experience of more than 33 years. Apart from a CA he is also Cost Accountant, Company Secretary, Law Graduate, qualified Information System Auditor and Ph D holder.
