On Saturday, in just his third game of the season after missing nearly two months due to NCAA eligibility issues, Auburn freshman and Newark native Sharife Cooper was instrumental in helping the Tigers beat Kentucky on national television.
The 6-foot-1 Cooper threw a one-handed alley-oop pass off the dribble with his left hand to teammate Jaylin Williams in the final seconds to give Auburn a four-point lead. On Auburn’s next possession, Cooper drove for a layup that helped ice the 66-59 win, the Tigers’ fourth straight over Kentucky.
