The socially distanced festivities, which included a well-attended car parade and a visit from Woburn Mayor Scott Galvin, were covered by WHDH Boston 7 News. “The mayor came to see me,” said Braudis. “I really feel like a big shot now.” Staff at New Horizons, Braudis’ home of two years, organized the event. The centenarian is known throughout the independent and assisted living community for her fierce independence, quick wit and unfailing optimism, according to Christine Coakley, New Horizons’ executive director.

New Horizons at Choate completes ‘Courtyard Suites’ residence wing Community Content New Horizons at Choate independent and assisted living community in Woburn is ready to welcome new neighbors. Construction is now complete on a brand-new residence wing housing 17 newly built oversized apartments. The not-for-profit senior living community’s “Courtyard Suites” feature modern construction, spacious common areas and an expansive veranda overlooking a courtyard. The residences, which are available for immediate occupancy, vary in size and layout. Nearly all include large bay windows. “With this snowy winter and the ongoing pandemic leaving so many local seniors in isolation, we are delighted to now be able to fully and immediately accommodate new residents,” said New Horizons at Choate Executive Director Christine Coakley.
