Little Tokyo Community Council Reaches $100,000 in Donations to Small Business Relief Fund

The Little Tokyo Community Council (LTCC) has awarded a total of $100,000 in grant funding to 50 small businesses in Little Tokyo that have faced significant revenue losses as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the first round of distributions in November 2020, $2,000 grants were given to 25 of the community’s small businesses, a majority of them being legacy small businesses that have been open for more than 20 years, and the second round will help support 25 more treasured businesses that contribute to the cultural identity of the neighborhood.

Good morning, Chairperson, ranking member of the committee and members of the committee.
The Nikkei for Civil Rights & Redress (NCRR) and Nikkei Progressives supports H.R. 40 and the Black community’s demand for reparations because: 1) it is the right thing to do; 2) it is long overdue and 3) because we know it is possible we won reparations in 1988. But Japanese Americans were not the first to make the demand.

The Little Tokyo Community Council (LTCC) has awarded a total of $50,000 in grant funding to 25 small businesses in Little Tokyo that have faced significant revenue losses as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Each business has received a $2,000 grant made possible by donations from the Little Tokyo Small Business Relief Fund, a program created as a partnership between LTCC and the Little Tokyo Service Center (LTSC) to provide financial support for local businesses during the ongoing pandemic.

The pandemic was no match for the holiday spirit over the weekend, as volunteers strung festive lights on shops and across sidewalks on First Street in Little Tokyo.
