Durbin s Ann Arbor-based attorney, David Goldstein, during the hearing said they were tracking toward trial, but asked for time for his client to weigh the decision.
Durbin, who scratched his chin and frowned at times during the hearing, is slated to return to court on Aug. 2.
Durbin s case stems from reported assaults said to have occurred during his time at the school and often in his Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity house. Durbin was a student from fall 2014 to April 2019, and the charged incidents are said to have occurred on dates from Nov. 1, 2015, to May 12, 2019.
Durbin stood by his innocence when interviewed by the police last year, police reports show.

Arizona Community College District Pays $155K to Prof Attacked over Islamic Terrorism Quiz Questions
16 Apr 2021
The Maricopa County Community College District is paying a $155,000 settlement to Scottsdale Community College (SCC) professor Nicholas Damask, whose quiz questions about terrorism offended Muslims.
In return, professor Damask has agreed not to pursue a lawsuit or other claims against district personnel, according to a report by the
Phoenix New Times. The district has also pledged to strengthen its commitment to academic freedom.
The predicament began last May, after one of Damask’s students, Mohamed Sabra, became offended over the professor’s quiz questions.
One of the quiz questions read, “Who do terrorists strive to emulate?” The correct answer on the quiz was the founder of Islam, Muhammad.
