Glenn Cameron is a familiar name to Whanganui theatregoers as he s directed many successful plays and musicals here.
His favourites? Les Miserables, Allo Allo and The Last of the Summer Wine are my favourites, Glenn said.
We missed Glenn when he moved over to Hastings for a few years and we re very glad he s back. Ill health prevented him from participating in theatre for a wee while but now he s back at Repertory Theatre directing another of his favourite plays, Shenanigan s Wake.

Opinion: What a treat! On Saturday evening before last Whanganui Theatre-goers were treated to the rehearsed readings of the four plays that were finalists in our 2020 Play Writing Competition.
It s perhaps not surprising that three of the four plays were written by talented actor/ director Chris McKenzie and that he enlisted the aid of his family to make them come to life.

Apart from only having to endure alert level 2 while Auckland goes into level 3, we were also lucky enough to see veteran actors in action on the Amdram stage.
Blind Eye is a play written by former Whanganui woman April Phillips. Already that s a sound recommendation. April is a consummate playwright with that extraordinary ability to write realistic, believable dialogue and characters.
Then cast Joan and Mike Street in the lead roles with Chris McKenzie and Annie Whitfield in support, and you ve got a winner.
