JAMMU: The last surviving member of the constituent Assembly which framed the constitution of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir Krishan Dev Sethi passed away at Jammu on Thursday morning.
The former chief minister and president of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mehbooba Mufti expressed her condolence on the demise of Sethi.
He was 93 and is survived by son Achal Sethi, law secretary and a daughter.
Sethi breathed his last at his Jammu residence this morning.

The last surviving member of the Jammu and Kashmir Constituent Assembly, Krishan Dev Sethi, passed away at his residence in Jammu this morning.
The 93- year-old Sethi was a member of the constituent Assembly which framed the constitution of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.
He also represented Noushera Assembly segment of Jammu and Kashmir. He is survived by a son (Achal Sethi, Law secretary) and a daughter.
Born in Mirpur, now in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, he represented the Nowshera Assembly segment
Srinagar: Krishan Dev Sethi, 93, who was the last surviving member of the Jammu & Kashmir Constituent Assembly, passed away on Thursday at his Jammu residence.
According to the family, he passed away around 4 a.m. at his ancestral home at Dalpatian Mohallah, Jammu. Mr. Sethi, who was keeping unwell for the last one year, is survived by four sons and two daughters.
Born in Mirpur, now in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, Mr. Sethi was an elected member of the first Constituent Assembly of Jammu and Kashmir formulated in 1951 and finalised the separate constitution of J&K. He represented the Nowshera Assembly segment.
JAMMU: Krishan Dev Sethi, 93, the last surviving member of the Jammu and Kashmir Constituent Assembly, passed away at his residence on Thursday.
The Constituent Assembly, which comprised of a body of representatives elected in 1951 (later dissolved in 1953), had framed the constitution of the erstwhile state of J&K.
Born in Mirpur, now in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, on January 1, 1928, Sethi was a popular leader. He migrated to Jammu in 1946 and later also represented the Nowshera assembly segment of Rajouri district.
J&K lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha expressed grief over the demise of Sethi. “Saddened by the passing away of Krishan Dev Sethi, ex-MLA #Nowshera and father of J&K law secretary Achal Sethi. He was also the last surviving member of J&K Constituent Assembly,” Sinha said in a tweet.
