After news broke that American track and field coach Alberto Salazar was banned from the sport, one piece of the story specifically caught the attention of filmmaker Paul Kemp.
Salazar (pictured) was renowned and respected, backed by the biggest brand in sports in Nike. But what was so strange about his ban for alleged doping offences, to Kemp (pictured), was that none of his athletes ever tested positive for banned substances.

Sky in the UK, DR in Denmark and Canal+ in Poland are among the international broadcasters to have picked up a documentary about athletics coach Alberto Salazar, who was found guilty of doping.
Nike’s Big Bet: Alberto Salazar & the Fine Line of Sport is directed by Paul Kemp (Transformer, Village of the Missing, The Rise of Jordan Peterson) and produced by Paul Kemp Productions and Cream Films in partnership with Canadian newspaper The Globe and Mail.
The film, which is available in 84- or 60-minute formats, charts the story of Salazar, who trained sports stars including Mo Farah before being handed a four-year ban from all coaching activities for doping.

Distributor Abacus Media Rights, part of Amcomri Media Group, also sold the film (pictured) to DR (Denmark), Channel Hot8 (Israel), Watcha (South Korea), Canal+ (Poland), and Nordic Entertainment Group (Finland, Norway, Sweden, Iceland and the Baltics).
Canadian pubcaster CBC and ZDF/Arte (Germany/France) came on board as early partners through deals brokered with the film’s producers.
