Mark A. Hanselman was moved Friday night to the Greene County Detention Center.
Hanseman, 55, who was wounded Dec. 3 in an officer-involved shooting in Greene County, walked away between Thursday night and Friday morning from the Johnson City Medical Center, where he was scheduled to have surgery Friday.
Hanselman was taken into custody Friday without incident by Johnson City police after a daylong, multi-agency search. He was being taken to the Greene County jail, Sheriff Wesley Holt said Friday night.
Hanselman was found to be missing from the hospital about 6:30 a.m. Friday. He was not under guard because he had not been formally served with any warrants relating to the circumstances that led to the shooting, Holt said.

Dakota L. Williams, 26, of 210 N. Nelson St. was charged by Greeneville Police with domestic assault on Saturday evening. Officer Nick Fillers went to Williamsâ address at about 8:20 p.m. Saturday in response to a call reporting that Williams had pushed the alleged victim down, according to the report. Williams âwas speaking about people bearing false witness against himâ when Fillers arrived, the report said, and the alleged victim reported that Williams punched her in the right arm earlier that day and âput a cold drink against her face and it startled her.â The victim and a witness said Williams threw the victimâs phone and broke it. Williams was transported to the Greene County Detention Center.
Drug possession charges were filed by Greeneville police against two women about 6:45 p.m. Wednesday after they were found unconscious in a sport utility vehicle in the parking lot of the Shoe Department store on East Andrew Johnson Highway.
Jennifer L. Welch, 30, of 330 Jennings Lane, was charged with driving under the influence, resisting arrest and possession of a Schedule III drug.
Amelia D. Gore, 36, of Dickson in Dickson County, was charged with possession of a Schedule II drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Welch had the SUV keys in her lap and woke up after police knocked on the driverâs side window âmultiple times,â Officer Jordan Williams said in a report.
