Beth DeJesus England will give an oil painting from life demonstration from 7 to 8:30 p.m., March 4 at the Taber Museum, 858 W. Fourth St., Williamsport. According to a news release, the public is invited to attend.
In addition, she will show her ‘plein air’ oil and watercolor paintings and discussing the process she follows when creating them. Under state Covid-19 guidelines, masks will be required.
England first became interested in plein air painting and painting from life when she attended the Maryland Institue College of Art where she studied under well-known plein air artist Mark Karnes.
“Often on the weekends when the weather is nice, Beth will pack her car with her oils in tow and head up to beautiful Eagles Mere to paint,” the news release said. “She also loves to bring her watercolors to plein air paint at baseball games and other events.”

Clocktower Cabaret to reopen Feb. 11
The Clocktower Cabaret, downtown’s variety-friendly venue under the historic D&F Clocktower on the 16th Street Mall, will celebrate its 15th anniversary with live shows beginning Valentine’s Day weekend. “Hoping our third COVID-related reopen attempt will be the charm, we’re announcing a string of live shows beginning Thursday, Feb. 11,” spokeswoman Selene Arca wrote this week.
In addition to “Cupid’s Delight Valentine Burlesque & Comedy,” running Feb. 11-14, the Clocktower will present “Boolesque 2: Halloween Re-Do” on the weekends of Feb. 19 and Feb. 28 “since not everyone was able to celebrate Halloween,” Arca wrote. MIFFLINBURG â A little entrepreneurship proved worthwhile this year in Mifflinburg.
After the in-person 2020 Mifflinburg Christkindl Market was canceled amid the COVID-19 pandemic, a number of nonprofit entities opened a couple of pop-up stores. Their desire was in part to keep the spirit of the annual German-style market alive.
Doors will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18 and Saturday, Dec. 19. at both the The Christkindl Gift Shop (508 Chestnut St., Mifflinburg) and The Artisan Corner Co-op (500 Chestnut St., Mifflinburg).
