90 arrests in big Georgia meth bust
Authorities say around 90 arrests are expected in the end of a methamphetamine drug investigation.
JACKSON, Ga. - A big drug investigation that law enforcement dubbed Crystal Web in 12 Georgia counties that targeted methamphetamines was expected to end with more than 90 arrests.
Butts County Sheriff Gary Long said this meth network was dealing about 22 pounds of methamphetamines a week. He called it a large operation and believed law enforcement had dismantled it from the top down.

The roundup of suspects started early Friday morning and continued late in the afternoon. More than 90 suspects in both Butts and Spalding Counties.

Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger this week announced Feb. 9 will be the date of the special election required for the Griffin Judicial Circuit District Attorney, which became vacant due to the appointment of The Honorable Ben Coker to the Superior Court of the Griffin Judicial Circuit.
The special election will be held on February 9, 2020 for the county in circuit, which includes Fayette, Pike, Spalding, and Upson counties. A run-off, if needed, will be held on March 9, 2021.
Qualifying for the Griffin Judicial Circuit District Attorney special election ended at 1:00 p.m., Dec. 18. The qualifying fee is $3,674.20.
