Residents whose property suffered damage in June from a tornado that hit DuPage County and other areas of suburban Chicago are eligible for low-interest federal recovery loans.

A tornado with winds reaching 140 mph swept through DuPage County on June 21. State officials survey of the area found major damage estimated at $3 million to 36 homes. Another 127 homes and six businesses suffered an estimated $2.6 million in damage.

WOODRIDGE, IL The Village of Woodridge and the Northern Illinois Food Bank are hosting a drive up food pantry Monday at Cypress Cove Family Aquatic Park, 8301 Janes Avenue. According to the village, anyone in need can drive thru the mobile food pantry between 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., where a volunteer will bring pre-packaged food to the recipient s car.
The village added that any left over food will be donated to the West Suburban Community Pantry in Woodridge.
