BELLEVILLE The former sales director of a St. Clair County trucking business claims he was fired in retaliation for reporting the company s alleged state law violation.
S. Tyler Fox filed a complaint Feb. 22 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Beelman Truck Co., alleging retaliatory discharge.
According to his complaint, Fox served as the director of sales for Beelman Truck beginning on Feb. 17, 2020. He alleges that during the course of his employment with Beelman Trucking, he became aware that the company was selling five or more used vehicles a year without an Illinois Dealer s License in violation of state law. Fox claims that after reporting to the management about the company s state law violation, he was fired in retaliation on Nov. 6, 2020.

EDWARDSVILLE A woman claims she tripped on a piece of rebar from a concrete parking bumper at the Secretary of State s Office in East Alton and suffered injuries.
Diana Tinnon filed a complaint Jan. 21 in the Madison County Circuit Court against St. Louis Regional Airport, alleging negligence.
According to her complaint, Tinnon was attempting to renew her license at the Secretary of State s Office located on Terminal Drive in East Alton, a property leased by the defendant. She alleges that after parking her car in the parking lot and walking towards the office building, her foot became caught on an exposed rebar on a broken concrete parking bumper. Tinnon claims she fell and hit the ground and landed on her knee and wrist.

EDWARSVILLE The Village of East Alton is facing a suit from a woman alleging she tripped on a broken sidewalk and suffered injuries.
Joyce Smith filed a complaint Jan. 29 in the Madison County Circuit Court against the Village of East Alton.
According to her complaint, Smith was walking north on Victory Drive in East Alton on March 17, 2020. She alleges she was caused to slip, trip, stumble and/or fall on a broken and defective sidewalk and suffered severe and permanent injuries to her knee that required medical treatment and surgery.
Smith alleges she has been hindered from attending to her normal affairs and has incurred medical expenses as a result of the fall.
