PLANS are underway for the Great Yorkshire Show to be held this year following the announcement of the Government’s roadmap out of coronavirus restrictions. Registered charity the Yorkshire Agricultural Society (YAS), which organises England’s premier showcase of farming, food and the countryside, can confirm that it is planning for the Great Yorkshire Show to be held on Tuesday 13th to Thursday 15th July. The celebration at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate remains subject to restrictions being lifted as set out by the Government last week. The announcement has raised hopes that large events may be able to resume from 21st June.
Although this year s Royal Northern Spring Show has already been cancelled, the sale of multi-breed pedigree bulls and exhibition cattle will still go ahead later this month at Thainstone Centre, Inverurie, in conjunction with Aberdeen and Northern Ma DUE TO ongoing Covid-19 restrictions, the Royal Northern Agricultural Society has taken the decision to again postpone Countryside Live 2020. The summer educational event had been rescheduled to take place on May 30 and 31 this year, at Mackie’s of Scotland, Westertown, Rothienorman, but has now been postponed a further year and will take place in May, 2022. The two-day event was to include an open day on the Sunday for the general public, followed by school visits on the Monday organised by rural education charity Royal Northern Countryside Initiative.
