AES appoints Sean Martin as International Sales Manager

The Audio Engineering Society (AES) has appointed Sean Martin as International Sales Manager.
The appointment underscores the organisation’s momentum as the industry works towards bringing back live events. AES also intends to build upon the successful online events that it has hosted throughout the pandemic.
Martin will be responsible for event sales, sustaining memberships, AES’s Audio Product Education Institute (APEI) sponsorships, E-Library subscriptions and working with AES Standards Sustainers.
“Sean has a phenomenal background in professional audio,” said AES Director of Sales Graham Kirk. “Ideally suiting him to for this new position. Given his proven record of success and his stature in the industry, we are confident that the Society, our industry partners and the industry as a whole will benefit from Sean’s joining the AES team.”

A frenzy of spring cleaning is taking place at holiday cottages across England as the self-catering sector prepares to welcome back guests from Monday.
Most of the estimated 100,000 cottages in England have been empty for six months after the second lockdown and then the tier system forced businesses to close for the winter season.
âWeâve been sprucing up the place up for weeks, but the last couple of days are always pandemonium,â said Alistair Handyside, owner of Higher Wiscombe, a collection of three luxury holiday homes in south Devon. âWe want to make it the best it can be.â

A barrister who dealt in the chemsex pills that killed his teenage boyfriend went on a drugs binge after he was suspended from the profession, a tribunal has heard.
Henry Hendron, 40, is facing 18 charges of professional misconduct brought by the Bar Standards Board in relation to behaviour which followed a previous suspension.
In 2015, Hendron bought £1,000 of mephedrone and GBL, a drug similar to GHB, from BBC producer Alexander Parkin, 42, to deal ‘in bulk’ on to the gay party scene.
He gave detailed instructions to his Colombian boyfriend Miguel Jimenez, 18, on how to use and package the drugs to which Miguel replied: ‘Blimey, and I’m the Colombian.’
