KNOXVILLE, Tenn. Summer is drawing closer and it means more people are planning vacations. Knoxville is on the list of popular destinations to visit.
Visit Knoxville said hotel visits are up 200% from this time last year.
“Most families are planning a little over two trips in the next three months,” Visit Knoxville’s Kim Bumpas said. “Think about our outdoor adventure and how drivable we are that makes Knoxville a really prime choice right now.”

Officials said that the city has seen a huge increase in the number of visitors. Visit Knoxville, which promotes the city as a destination for large conventions and tourism, said that hotel stays are up 1,000%.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. One of the most exclusive groups of American heroes will make a return trip to Knoxville in September 2022.
“It’s going to be big, bigger, and better than it was last time,” said 2022 convention chair Joe Thompson said in an interview with 10News.
Knoxville hosted the same convention in 2014 for an elite group of veterans awarded the military’s highest medal for risking their own lives to save others.
