RDCK, Whitewater Ski Resort partner to receive funding from Province's Community Economic Recovery Infrastructure Program

Whitewater is receiving $1 Million in CERIP funding for the development of the first phase of creating a new summer operations/tourism and hospitality business centered on mountain biking, hiking, and climbing.
The Regional District of Central Kootenay, in partnership with Whitewater Ski Resort, is receiving a funding grant under the B.C. Government’s Community Economic Recovery Infrastructure Program (CERIP) destination development stream worth $1 Million.
The BC Government announced last week that 54 new tourism projects throughout the province is receiving funding, which is investing in implementation-ready tourism infrastructure and amenities projects that support the recovery and resilience of tourism. ....

Trust supports trail improvements with nearly $500k
Trails around the Columbia Basin will see upgrades and additions this spring to make them safer and more accessible.
This is thanks to 25 new projects that are receiving nearly $500,000 from Columbia Basin Trust’s Trail Enhancement Grants.
“Basin residents have told us that outdoor recreation opportunities are essential for their physical and mental well-being,” said Michelle d’Entremont, Manager of Delivery of Benefits with the Columbia Basin Trust. “With more people staying and exploring their local surroundings, these projects will provide greater access to rehabilitated and new trails so we can continue to enjoy and benefit from them.” ....
