UPDATE: 4:30 p.m. Casper Police Department Public Information Officer Rebekah Ladd said a driver hit multiple parked vehicles near the Townsend Justice Center, including a Casper Police patrol vehicle.  Ladd said sheriff s deputies working security at the justice center witnessed the crash and immediately responded to assist.  The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital with injuries. (Wyoming News Now) - A Banner Wyoming Medical Center doctor points to the pandemic as a cause for the 30 percent increase in overdoses from 2019 to 2020. The mental health crisis is the reason why this is happening and people’s access to different substances. “They impair judgment and make it more likely to misuse prescription pain killers,” said Carol Solie M.D., the Banner Wyoming Medical Center Chief Medical Officer. Officers get dispatched to calls that could be classified as overdose calls. Downtown Casper Business Burglarized For Second Time In A Month And it appears to have happened again. Platte Hemp Company shared the surveillance video of a break-in early Sunday morning. In the video, the two thieves break a window, enter and steal something off the shelf. For reasons unknown, one of the thieves decides to kick a glass counter.
