Ashland High School seniors plan to work toward fine arts careers

Ashland Times Gazette ASHLAND Jarrod Hartzler, executive director for the Ohio Alliance for Arts Education, and Donna Collins, executive director for the Ohio Arts Council, hope Ashland High School’s Fine Arts Signing Day catches on with other schools across the area. They both attended Wednesday’s event at AHS where 14 seniors signed “non-binding” forms stating they will pursue fine arts careers after high school. Earning the title during this year’s scholarship contest was Avery Brown of Navarro High School. Active on the Dazzler’s Dance team, National Honor Society and theatre, Brown also won the fitness, self-expression and talent preliminary awards. Not only did she receive a $1,400 scholarship for taking home the title but she also earned an $8,000 scholarship to Texas Lutheran University.
