WNMU sets Remembrance March
Western New Mexico University Veterans Affairs has organized a march commemorating the Bataan Death March, the forced 65-mile journey 75,000 American and Filipino prisoners of war embarked on in April 1942.
The event is being held in honor the military men and women, past and present, who give their all in service of their community and nation. Beginning and ending on the WNMU campus, participants can walk or run their choice of distances and routes, either for themselves or in memory of a loved one who served.
The event begins at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, April 17, in the WNMU Fine Arts Center Theatre parking lot and ends in Ben Altamirano Stadium.
