Rosas, of the Calexico Station, was off-duty Sunday when he successfully intervened in an attack on Beltran by someone who was trying to steal his vehicle.  Rosas subdued the assailant until local police arrived. The assailant was found in possession of a knife at the time of the incident. Over the past few months, agents are seeing a soaring number of migrants, illegally crossing the border into America, who have convictions for sex crimes, including against children. Since Oct. 1, the beginning of Fiscal Year 2021, agents in the sector have arrested 95 convicted sex offenders. The figure is a 3,166% increase over the same timeframe last fiscal year. The disturbing number comes as agents picked up 10 convicted sex offenders in just one week.

Border Patrol agents in the Del Rio Sector in Texas have seen a 3,166% increase in arrests of convicted sex offenders compared to the same timeframe last fiscal year as agents across the border continue to nab criminals with convictions for sex crimes, including against children. The agency said that since Oct. 1, the beginning of Fiscal Year 2021, agents in the sector have arrested 95 convicted sex offenders making a 3,166% increase over the same timeframe last fiscal year. The staggering figure comes as agents picked up 10 convicted sex offenders in just a week. The arrests were made between May 17 and 24, with nationals from Honduras and Mexico among those arrested.
