Produce companies top Canadaâs Best Managed Companies list

Applicants for this prestigious award are analyzed by an independent judging panel comprised of representatives from program sponsors and guest judges. Evaluated by overall business performance, successful candidates also demonstrate leadership in areas of strategy; capabilities and innovation; culture and commitment and financials to achieve sustainable growth. Oppy has been chosen every year since it first applied in 2001, and has been a part of the programâs Platinum Club for 14 years.
Deloitte has revealed its list of
Canada’s Best Managed Companies for 2021, with familiar horticultural producers and suppliers on the list.
Red Sun Farms based in Kingsville, Ont. has received this recognition for the eighth consecutive year, retaining the organization’s Platinum Club status. This level is for winners who have maintained their Best Managed status for seven years or more.

Canadian grower launches new logo
Red Sun Farms, a vertically integrated high-tech greenhouse grower with locations in Canada, USA, and Mexico, responds to customer demands for more visible branding in the retail environment by presenting a new logo.
The new logo incorporates the iconic butterfly while maintaining bright, bold colours that honour the history of the brand, ensuring continuity and consistency.

Ontario greenhouse grower plans 2021 growth in Mexico, Canada and US
Red Sun Farms, a vertically integrated greenhouse grower with locations in Canada, USA and Mexico, is making a significant investment in its facilities.
In 2020, Red Sun Farms completed 27 acres of construction on a three-phase project totaling 63.8 acres in Kingsville, Ontario.
Red Sun is making significant investments in its Texas and Ontario facilities.
Additionally, a second investment for Red Sun Farms included 18 acres of high-tech greenhouse farming, expanding Red Sun Farms overall portfolio for this location to 42 acres. Mexico successfully completed a 25-acre expansion prior to its winter crop.
This year, Red Sun Farms Mexico is on track to deliver an additional 35 acres for the 2021 winter season.
