Argentina operators to reimburse clients for January price hikes Tuesday 23 February 2021 | 14:20 CET | News Movistar Argentina (Telefonica) and Claro (America Movil) have informed telecommunications regulator Enacom that they intend to reimburse customers for unauthorised price increases imposed in January and February. Claro Argentina and Movistar Argentina confirmed to Enacom that they will reimburse their clients in March, via credit notes, for the extra amount billed, confirmed the watchdog s director Carlos Ambrosini in a tweet, adding that those who do not comply with the agreed refund will be fined .

Argentina court rules against operator price hikes Monday 1 February 2021 | 11:45 CET | News An Argentinian court has dismissed legal action brought by the country s telecommunications operators against the plans of regulator Enacom to prevent what it regards as excessive price increases, reports local news portal Perfil, citing the watchdog s director Carlos Ambrosini. Under Decree 690 introduced by the government at the end of last year, operators of internet, pay-TV, fixed and mobile telephony services are permitted to increase rates by a maximum of 5 percent starting this year following a temporary price freeze.
