An Oklahoma City minister publicly rebuked a state senator Thursday for making what the clergyman described as sexist, misogynistic and racist public remarks about Vice Pres. Kamala Harris.
The Rev. Lee Cooper, senior pastor of Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, was serving his last day as a participant in the Oklahoma Senate s Chaplain of the Week program when he took Sen. Nathan Dahm, R-Broken Arrow, to task for implying that Harris, the country s first Black person, first female and first person of South Asian descent to ascend to the vice presidency, had slept her way into politics.

Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccine may pose moral dilemma for Catholic community

OKLAHOMA CITY Johnson & Johnson s new vaccine has been welcomed as another weapon in the arsenal against COVID, but some members of the local Catholic faith community may avoid it.
U.S. Catholic leaders said abortion-derived cell lines were used in the testing, development and production of the vaccine.
This makes it abhorrent for many Catholics like Connie Lang of Norman, who is vehemently against abortion. I absolutely despise this one. It s an absolute no, she said of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
The concern expressed by Lang, coordinator of the anti-abortion movement 40 Days for Life-Norman, may be shared by others in the local Catholic community.
