Community salutes former Tilton Police Chief

March 03, 2021TILTON ¬¬ After nearly 14 years as chief of the Tilton Police Department, Robert Cormier retired at the end of January and, after giving him a little time to readjust to his new lifestyle, state and local law enforcement officers, fire fighters, town officials and residents lined up to parade through the parking lot at Winnisquam Regional High School last Saturday to pay their respects to him as he moves on to the next chapter in his life.
Tilton Police Chief Robert Cormier and Officer Noelle Glenn enjoyed meeting future police officers during the Downtown Halloween festivities in 2018. Announcing his retirement from the department last Thursday, Cormier, who started the annual trick-or-treat celebration as well as other community events in Tilton, said he will now be seeking new challenges in the next chapter of his life. January 28, 2021TILTON After careful consideration, as well as conversations with both his family and selectmen, Tilton Police Chief Robert Cormier made the public announcement last Thursday evening that he would be retiring at the end of January to move forward in the next chapter of his life.
