SDG council is working on providing five days of extra leave for all full-time county staff from July 1 to Dec. 31 of this year. These days were initially granted last year and were set to expire on June 30.
“We feel the programs worked very well,” said Tim Simpson, chief administrative officer for SDG.

The paid sick leave was accessed by 17 employees since Jan. 1, for a total of 324.5 hours. This was equal to $9,572.77 in paid leave. The program does not include the 50 to 60 part-time staff employed by the counties, but employees could make up hours later.
