The BIG3’s brand of three-on-three basketball (which, with their particular tweaks, they’re now calling “FIREBALL3”) aired mostly on FS1 (on a delay) in its first year in 2017, then across Fox and FS1 to larger viewership in 2018, and then exclusively on CBS and CBS Sports Network in 2019. The league canceled its 2020 season last May amidst the COVID-19 pandemic (after plans for a quarantine tournament fell through), but at that time, they announced that CBS would remain a partner for 2021. That came to pass back in April, with the league announcing a July 10 season start and a full schedule then.

After a year off, the NCAA Tournament is back, and so are our NCAA Tournament broadcaster rankings.
This year, we got over 16,000 votes, and all but one of the ten broadcast teams received at least 1,500 votes (so sorry, Brad Nessler and Steve Lavin). The average score was a stout 2.82, no team scored under a 2.00, and we had a shocking three teams break the 3.50 mark (which is usually more than enough to claim the top spot in our broadcaster rankings). Many of the broadcast teams for this year’s tournament were new, with only two of the ten teams that called the first two rounds of games remaining unchanged from 2019, but the overall rankings will seem quite familiar from recent years, analyst changes aside.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. The University of New Mexico men’s basketball team will resume Mountain West play this weekend as it takes on the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels on Saturday in game one of the series on CBS Sports Network. Tipoff will be 3:35 p.m. MT / 2:25 p.m. PT.
Saturday’s game will also be available to follow via Live Stats.
The Lobos (4-6, 0-6 MW) enter the game coming off of a nine-point victory over the WAC’s Dixie State on Wednesday. The Lobos snapped a six-loss streak with the win.
UNLV (2-6, 0-2 MW) comes into the series coming off of three recent games in January after most of its December schedule was canceled or postponed. The Runnin’ Rebels also picked up a non-conference matchup this week and claimed a 95-34 win over St. Katherine in the Thomas & Mack. Prior to that win, UNLV dropped its first conference series at Colorado State, both games by three points.
