Higher Learning: Success of veterans is a priority at USF

Community connections are a two-way street. USF Sarasota-Manatee students, faculty and staff work to contribute to the community, but the community also steps up to help groups at the university when our goals coalesce. A great example is the mutually valuable interactions between our student veteran population (11.5% of our students are using VA benefits) and the many organizations in Sarasota and Manatee counties that connect with and support 88,000 local veterans and active military personnel and their families.
USF is one of the nation’s top veteran-friendly universities, dedicated to providing our military and veteran students and their families with the support they need to excel academically and professionally. The Military Times Best for Vets: Colleges 2020 report ranked USF first in Florida and fourth nationally among all four-year U.S institutions, and U.S. News and World Report also named USF a 2
