Forest dept rescues lost elephant calf in Cox’s Bazar Photo: Collected Star Digital Report Star Digital Report Forest Department of Cox s Bazar rescued an elephant calf believed to have been lost from the herd from Shapalur area of Teknaf upazila, and handed her over to the local safari park yesterday. The female calf weighing 121 kg and aged around three months was found in Huiyakkong range of Cox s Bazar South Forest Division. Humayun Kabir, divisional forest officer (DFO) of Cox s Bazar South Forest Division, told The Daily Star, We came to know about the calf, which we assume, got lost from a herd of elephants.
