Huskies Ready for NCAA Columbus Regionals

May 9, 2021 SEATTLE – The No. 14 seed Washington Husky women s golf team will begin play at the 2021 NCAA Regionals on Monday which is being hosted by the Ohio State University at the par-72, 6,358-yard Scarlet Course at the Ohio State University. The three-day, 54-hole event will take place May 10-12 with the top six teams in the 18-team field advance to the NCAA Finals that will be played May 21-26 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. Additionally, the top three individuals on non-advancing teams will move on the national championships. THE FIELD: In the Columbus Region, No. 1 Duke earned the top seed followed by Arizona State, Virginia, Kent State, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Michigan, Clemson, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Illinois, New Mexico, Nebraska, Washington, Coastal Carolina, Campbell, Evansville and Youngstown State.

UW Wraps Up Regular Season at Branch Law Firm Dick McGuire Invitational

Apr 10, 2021 SEATTLE – After just a few days since its last tournament, the University of Washington women s golf team is back in action this weekend at the 42nd annual Branch Law Firm Dick McGuire Invitational this Sunday-Monday, April 11-12. The 54-hole event will be played at the par-72, 6,317-yard Championship Golf Course at The University of New Mexico. The teams will play 36 holes on Sunday followed by 18 on Monday. This is the last regular season event for the Huskies before the Pac-12 Championships (April 23-25).   THE LINEUP: The Huskies will play freshman Stefanie Deng, senior Rino Sasaki, freshman Camille Boyd, junior Martha Lewis and sophomore Brittany Kwon.

Huskies In the Desert for Sun Devil Winter Classic

SEATTLE – The University of Washington women s golf team returns to the course this week as it will head to the desert for the ASU Sun Devil Winter Classic. The three-day event will take place Monday-Wednesday, Feb. 15-17, at the par-72, 6,482 yard Talking Stick Golf Course in Scottsdale, Arizona.  The Pac-12 loaded 10-team field will play 18 holes each day with a 5-count-4 scorecard daily.   Where: Talking Stick North Course – Pipaash Course; Par 72-, 6,482 yards Teams: Arizona State, Arizona, California, Colorado, Oregon, Oregon State, USC, UCLA, WSU and Washington Washington Lineup: Rino Sasaki, Camille Boyd, Stefani Deng, Martha Lewis, Brittany Kwon   THE FIELD (Golf Channel Power Rankings: No. 2 USC, No. 4 Arizona State, No. 7 UCLA, No. 8 Arizona, No. 10 Stanford, No. 18 Oregon, No. 28 Washington, California, Colorado, Oregon State and WSU.  

Smith Ties for Third in Texas

Nebraska’s  Kate Smith fired a final-round 68 (-4) to charge 15 spots up the leaderboard and tie for third individually at the SMU Trinity Forest Invitational in Dallas, Texas, on Tuesday. Smith, a fifth-year senior from Detroit Lakes, Minn., entered Tuesday’s third round in a tie for 18th, before putting together an impressive final 18 holes to close at 219 (75-76-68, +3). Smith’s final round included five birdies, including four on the front nine, and an eagle on the par-five 11th hole. She posted a 33 (-3) on the front, before adding a 35 (-1) on the back over the par-72, 6,258-yard layout at the Trinity Forest Golf Club.
