Two grizzly bears fighting, a group of bison ploughing through a field of snow and the stars lighting a hiking trail are among the pictures selected as the 20 finalists in a photography competition showcasing images from US national parks.
All 20 images were the winners of the first ever annual Nature s best Photography National Parks Photo competition and were the top 20 placed images chosen from more than 3,000 entries.
One image taken by photographer, Brian Wright of San Diego, California, showed the star trails over the Chesler Park Hiking Trail, Canyonlands National Park, Utah. Acadia National Park Proposes $6 Reservation Fee
This past year, the folks with the National Park system tested out their new timed entry reservation system, where future visitors would go online to reserve a parking place along the Cadillac Mountain Summit Road.
Initially, the Park Service had asked for a $2 reservation fee to cover costs of future visitors making an online reservation at Recreation.gov. Now, they re proposing to charge a $6 reservation fee to support the vehicle reservation system for the Cadillac Summit Road at Acadia National Park beginning in May 2021.
The total fee for each vehicle reservation would be $6, with $4 allocated to National Park System operational and capital costs, and $2 allocated to administrative costs for Recreation.gov.
