The Pointe-Claire municipal election is still nine months away, but the race for mayor has begun with the announcement that local businessman Tim Thomas will challenge for it. Municipal elections across Quebec are set for Nov. 7, 2021. Thomas, owner of an antique shop in the Pointe-Claire Village, launched his campaign this week. Thomas, 61, once served as a senior policy analyst on the Canadian government’s Privy Council. He holds a PhD in political science and taught university classes at McGill, Concordia and Royal Military College in Kingston.
