Demetrius Devonte McGhee, 26, of Clayton, is charged with the deaths of three people who were found inside the car on Monday morning.
Law enforcement officers met with McGhee, who was released from an area hospital Monday night, and charged him with four counts of capital murder.

EUFAULA, Ala. - The bodies of a woman and two children were found inside a car found partially submerged in Lake Eufaula, and a possible suspect was being treated at a hospital, authorities said.
Barbour County Coroner Chip Chapman said the three victims, who were not immediately identified, apparently were dead before the car entered the water. It was found near a lakeside park in Eufaula early Monday along the Alabama-Georgia state line, news outlets reported.
The causes of death were unclear, Chapman said. The bodies were sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for autopsies, and the surviving male was taken by helicopter ambulance to Southeast Health in Dothan, according to the police chief there, Will Benny.

A Georgia woman and two children have been identified as the three victims found dead in a Eufaula, Alabama, lake Monday morning, and their deaths are being investigated as a homicide.
Barbour County Coroner Chip Chapman late Monday afternoon identified the woman as Ramona Hudson. He said he is not releasing the names of the children but said they are believed to be ages 16 and 12.
Chapman said the victims were apparently dead before their vehicle was pushed into the water near Creek Town Park. Their bodies have been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for autopsy.
