Nevada got a huge signing day surprise in four-star QB Clay Millen. Thanks to the development of Carson Strong and a coaching change at Arizona and building a relationship in a few weeks when he didn’t sign anywhere, he is now a member of the Wolf Pack. On Millen’s end, many of his offers dried up due to schools only taking one quarterback, which is common at the position. He is excited to play in the pass-heavy system.

The football season is behind us, and we are inching closer to March Madness and the start of spring football. Two weeks ago saw another important day in the football calendar, signing day. With the early signing day in December, the February version has lost some of its luster, but there is still plenty to discuss. Let’s take a look at how the six teams in the West Division recruited.

Welcome to the fifth post in our twelve-part recruiting breakdown series. Today looks at the #5 team in our rankings, Nevada.
As usual, Nevada kept with their preference of putting the bulk of this class together early in the cycle. However, they saved their best signee for the very last day. While most of the class is made up of solid but not spectacular talent and balanced by transfers, the Wolf Pack secured the biggest recruiting star in the entire Mountain West. The feeling of sureness persisted, one that he’d made the right decision in the second go-around in his college recruitment. Clay Millen could hardly believe the words coming out of his mouth as he landed at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Monday night.
The Mount Si senior quarterback, who de-committed from Arizona last month after the football program underwent a coaching change, left Reno on Monday with his heart set on committing to Nevada over Colorado, the only school that kept its offer from the first go-around.
“They put up huge numbers,” Millen said. “It’s a great place to be a quarterback.”

Possibly the biggest story of signing day for the Mountain West, Nevada received a commitment from Clay Millen, a four-star quarterback from Washington state who recently de-committed from Arizona. Has a rating of 91 on 247 Sports. As of this posting, the highest-rated recruit in the Mountain West this cycle. Wolf Pack’s QB room is packed for years to come.
