(NewsDakota.com) – About 50 people attended the Barnes County Commission meeting to show their support for Rockne Earles resolution to declare Barnes County a 2nd Amendment Sanctuary County. Several other residents expressed their wishes that the county support this resolution as more than 11-thousand other counties already have across the United States. Area counties with positive tests included eight in Barnes County, three in Foster County and one each in Logan and McIntosh counties. The department reported the death of man in his 80s from Cass County and a man in his 60s from Dickey County. The two deaths raise the total for North Dakota to 1,484 people since the start of the pandemic. ....
No, we werenât at a work party. Believe it or not, we were all (and there were many of us) attending a commission meeting of the Barnes County commissioners, at 8 a.m. on the second floor of the Barnes County Courthouse. In fact, there were so many attendees that chairs were brought in, and people were standing in the back of the room and even out in the hall. Interest in this meeting was very high, and it wasnât because of the planning and zoning decisions being made, although there was some interest in those too. Everyone attending listened politely to the assorted zoning decisions, although the âmain eventâ began when a tall figure dressed warmly in a red plaid jacket (it was a chilly morning) took the stage. ....

JP Lueck of Spiritwood, N.D., was elected to represent the soybean producers of District 6, Stutsman County. Lueck, his father and brother farm north of Spiritwood and grow wheat, corn and soybeans. Lueck is also an engineering services supervisor at Collins Aerospace in Jamestown. In addition to his new term on the NDSC board of directors, he is active in the North Dakota Farmers Union and serves as a township supervisor for Rose Township. Lueck holds a degree in business administration from Jamestown College. ....
