COC Foundation Reaches Agreement In Measure E Late Paperwork Case

COC Foundation Reaches Agreement In Measure E Late Paperwork Case In response to an unmet financial Measure E paperwork filing date in 2016, Santa Clarita’s College of the Canyons Foundation has reached an agreement with the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) to pay a fine of $5,500 to the General Fund of the State of California.  In June 2016, a ballot containing proposed general obligation bonds passed, providing $230 million in funds to the Santa Clarita Community College District for the purpose of expanding College of the Canyons. In preparation for this vote, the College of the Canyons Foundation (the “Foundation”) contributed to the campaign for this proposal. This campaign was commonly known as “Yes on Measure E”.

SCVNews.com | Santa Clarita Could Grant $126K to 6 Projects to Aid SCV Homeless Population

A series of projects brought forth by Santa Clarita Valley-based organizations and agencies to aid the local homeless population could soon receive thousands of dollars from the city of Santa Clarita. City Council members are expected Tuesday to discuss whether to approve six community proposals and distribute a total of $126,493 to fund each one via the 2021 Homeless Innovation Fund Grant. The city’s grant allocation is part of $6 million from Los Angeles County, which the Board of Supervisors approved in 2019 to distribute to cities so that they can “develop and pilot new and creative services or to further assist individual cities (to) implement goals in their action plans,” according to a city agenda report.
