On their website, they list the legal steps that a musician must take in order to reclaim their copyright. In a series of tweets, she broke down what an artists earns from streaming. She referenced Prince’s struggle with streaming services, calling the industry giants “thieves in the temple.”

However, the law doesn’t mean that that reversion is immediate, or automatic, according to the Future of Music Coalition, a music education and advocacy group. Per their website, there are steps a musician must take to regain their copyrights under the law.
