I’m supporting Barbara Allen and Ernie (Ernst) Merckens for the two open seats on the Belgrade selectboard. I have known both Barbara and Ernie for many years and believe each will be a valuable member of the selectboard if elected.
Allen has lived in Belgrade for decades and been involved in many aspects of community life. She has served as a town library trustee and as chair of the board. As a member of the Friends of Belgrade Lakes committee, she was actively involved in fundraising to help pay for new sidewalks, street lights and other amenities associated with the recent road reconstruction project.

There’s a new strong voice running for Belgrade’s selectboard Barbara Allen.
While she may be new to running for an elected position in town, she’s a tried-and-true worker for organizations all across Belgrade that enhance the quality of life in our town: Belgrade Central School’s Arts Enrichment Program, the Belgrade Library Trustees, the McGrath Pond-Salmon Lake Association, and the Friends of Belgrade Lakes Village’s volunteer work to raise funds for the enhancement of the Village.
Her community-focus volunteer commitment built upon her professional background in fundraising and development. She understands the relationship between our natural resources the lakes and the tax base. She recognizes the value of new businesses that fit with the character of the town. Amplify Austin Day raises $12.5 million for Central Texas nonprofits

AUSTIN, Texas - I Live Here I Give Here (ILHIGH) says that the ninth annual community-wide day of giving, Amplify Austin Day, raised more than $12.5 million in 2021 for 686 participating nonprofit organizations spanning seven Central Texas counties.
The 24-hour day of giving began at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 4 and ended on Friday, March 5.
In addition to providing the online giving platform, through the Amplify Fund, ILHIGH says it raised more than $325,000 in matching gifts and prizes available to participating nonprofits to incentivize their campaigns.
