Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) announced yesterday that it funded projects worth more than $530m during 2020 through humanitarian and development aid, which were distributed over several essential sectors, namely education, health, economic empowerment, infrastructure, and climate change.
This came in the Fund’s annual report for 2020, in which it reviewed the continuation of its efforts in support of development and relief issues in developing countries.

Doha: The President of Qatar Red Crescent, Sheikh Abdullah bin Thamer Al Thani, confirmed that its relief field teams would continue their humanitarian work in the Gaza Strip. This comes after an Israeli strike on the QRCS office in Gaza, causing deaths and injuries.
On his official Twitter handle, Sheikh Abdullah said, “I would like to express my gratitude to All my colleagues, national societies, heads of #RedCrescent #RedCross, local & International bodies & All individuals who have expressed their solidarity with #QRC after the targeting of its office in #Gaza, wishing safety for everyone.”

Doha - The State of Qatar expresses its strong condemnation of the Israeli occupations bombing of the Qatari Red Crescent Society building in the besieged Gaza Strip, which resulted in several deaths and injuries.
Parallel to the attack on the Red Crescent, another operation caused damages and destruction of parts of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani Hospital for Rehabilitation and Prostheses, as a result of the continuous attacks on buildings surrounding the hospital.
Israel has also shamelessly bombed Al-Jalaa tower, which housed a number of media institutions, including Al-Jazeera offices in the Gaza Strip.

Gaza: Chairman of Qatar’s Gaza Reconstruction Committee H E Ambassador Mohammed Al Emadi made an inspection tour of H H the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani Hospital for Rehabilitation and Prosthetics, and Hamad bin Jassim Center for Integrated Rehabilitation Care.
Ambassador Al Emadi inspected the progress of work at H H the Father Amir Hospital in all its departments, praising the quality of services provided by the hospital. He appreciated the efforts of the administrative and medical staff working in it to provide service and treatment to patients.
